Receiving your DBS certificate

  • The University does not receive a copy of your certificate or any detail about any positive disclosure.
  • You will receive a DBS certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service in the post.
  • You must retain your DBS certificate in case your placement provider asks to see it.
  • You are advised to  to ensure that you receive it.
  • If you don’t receive your DBS certificate, you must contact the within 3 months of the check being completed.
  • The University is informed whether your DBS certificate has a positive disclosure or whether it is clear .
  • If your DBS contains a positive disclosure, you will be contacted by the University. You will be required to bring the certificate, along with a form of photo ID, to one of our drop-in sessions to be reviewed.
