"My engineering degree helped me to land my dream job at Bentley Mulliner"

Kasper Winstanley studied BEng (Hons) Automotive Engineering and now works at Bentley Mulliner on their graduate scheme.

I’ve always had a passion for cars so I knew this was something I wanted to get into. In the future I’d like to work towards a leadership role where I can make an even bigger impact on the automotive industry.”

What I do

“I joined Bentley Mulliner as part of the graduate scheme. Bentley Mulliner specialises in creating hyper personalised, luxury vehicles for its customers. I work as part of the coach building and engineering team. I get to rotate across the business on the graduate scheme, working in different departments from manufacturing, engineering, design and safety.”

“The best part of working within Bentley is that I get to be part of a high performance team which is both challenging and fulfilling. It’s great to be able to make an impact on the future of Bentley.”

How Sheffield Hallam helped me

“My degree has helped me to gain a strong foundation in automotive engineering. We have studied all aspects including design, manufacturing and engineering. The engineering workshop has a lot of high spec equipment for the students to use, so I was able to gain hands-on knowledge on additive manufacturing, dynamic components and engines.

Sheffield Hallam really supports you in preparing for a career. Their placement opportunities really set you apart from other applicants. I got the opportunity to work on projects with industry leaders, which helped to bridge the gap between theory and real-world engineering.

Sheffield Hallam proactively sends out a careers newsletter which highlights the latest job opportunities for third year students, without this I might not have seen the position within Bentley."
