High Speed Video Techniques Workshop
Join the Advanced Wellbeing Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Centre (AWRC) and Centre for Sports Engineering Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ (CSER) at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ for a two-day practical high speed video workshop with leading academics. The centres are opening their doors to regional SMEs in sport, manufacturing, education (private sector), television and media, interested in high speed video.
Gain hands-on experience using a variety of equipment while you learn from experts about high speed video technology, data capturing techniques and its vast array of applications. This event is ideal for SMEs that use, or could use, video to explore the movement of objects or people.
Who is the event for?
This event is relevant to companies that are interested in analysing the movement of humans or objects. In particular sports, manufacturing, health, technology and television/media companies, and education and researchers in the private sector. Participation is free of charge to qualifying SMEs in the Sheffield City Region.
Draft agenda
Day one will include an introduction to high speed video techniques, demonstrations, frame rate and exposure, lenses and lighting, and data collection.
Day two will include measurement error, digitalisation and measurement, presenting results, the future of high speed video technology and techniques.

- Awareness of high speed video techniques and technologies
- Increased ability to capture high speed video images, extract measurements and interpret data
- Better understanding of the AWRC and CSER technology, expertise and facilities at Sheffield Hallam
- Knowledge of pathways to engage with the AWRC and the Sheffield Innovation Programme
