I have not been keeping up with this series of posts, but here I go trying to get back on track. Stop paying 35, 40 or even 50 bucks for juried shows! Check out this week's free chance to participate in an exhibition, publication, etc.
This week's opportunity was started by an unnamed independent curator. Check out the details below. Deadline: 10/06/12 This project calls for artists to create works in reaction to each of William Powhida's 17 tips for selling art. A tip/prompt will be posted each week, starting at the top of his list, and working our way through (you can also work ahead/catch up as needed, but the project will close on October 6th). There will be a curated catalog of the results (and we're working on arrangements for an exhibition). To participate, make 1 work of art (any medium) for each tip (that's 17 works - ambitious!), and email a print-quality image of each work (at least 5 inches on widest dimension and 300dpi), the title, medium, dimensions, and date. All works will be posted to the blog as they are received. Feel free to invite others - this is an open project. ellen(at)ellenmueller.com http://17tips.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/114529568688425/

I recommend that people participate! Ellen is a great artist and extremely supportive of others. She's always on the lookout for opportunities and letting artists know about them so it only makes sense that she would want to facilitate them herself
