Summary
Joined SHU in September 2021 as a Senior Lecturer (Quantity Surveying).
Member of the QS team within the NBE department, helping to complement the existing delivery team by bringing a fresh industry perspective to learning, teaching and assessments, aided by extensive industry experience working in a variety of roles, including QS, Project Manager and Company Director.
About
35 years as a surveying professional in the construction industry, working across a range of disciplines, including Quantity Surveying, Cost Adviser, Programme / Project Manager, Technical Adviser, Strategic Estates Planning, Business Case / Option Appraisals and BREEAM Assessor.
Wide breadth of experience gained in a variety of roles, encompassing private practice consultancy, construction / contracting, private sector client side, public sector client side, NHS and also as a Company Director of a SME (for the last 14 years).
Successful project delivery utilising many alternative building procurement routes and building contracts.
Motivated by a strong desire for personal growth and learning, largely driven by dealing with new situations on a regular basis.
