Dr David Wren PhD, MSc, BSc, ACIPD
Senior Lecturer
Summary
I am a senior lecturer within the business school, and started teaching in 2013.
My PhD in 2016, was on "Cultures of Performance and Reward in UK Employee-Owned Businesses", and researched the organisational culture of different forms of employee ownership within the UK. Since then I have gone on to publish about Employee Ownership.
Previously, I was a customer service manager in Royal Mail and for a privately-owned American multinational, both operating in the IT sector. My interests are responsible management and societal transformation through the social economy.
About
I am course leader across a number of undergraduate courses and teach at both UG and PG levels, as well as for apprenticeships.
My passion in research is to understand how employee ownership influences the workplace, having observed it for my self-funded PhD.
As a PhD supervisor, I have two completions (one as Director of Studies) and I am currently supervising three more PhD students in the Organisational Behaviour area. I have helped to organise both physical and online, international conferences, hosted at Sheffield Hallam university and presented papers in a number of countries.
