About
Following qualifying as a primary school teacher, Anne taught in England and New Zealand before completing her MSc Psychology and Counselling. She was awarded a fully funded scholarship for her doctorate on Primary School Children's Perspectives of Well-being Through Photography in England and New Zealand. Her research focuses on children's well-being, space, creative methods and latterly student experiences of HE. Her teaching and research interests include emotional intelligence, participation and rights, well-being and arts based practice. She teaches on PGCert Higher Education Practice and supervises doctoral students. Anne leads a Special Interest Group on Creative and Innovative Methodologies within SIOE, across the University and externally. Anne also co-leads Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) for her College (Social Sciences and Arts).

Anne's research interests include children and well-being, participation, visual, participative and creative methodologies and reflective practice. She is also engaged in writing up work around disability in Malaysia (funded by the British Council) and a new research project around investigating our relationship with the workspace with funding from 香蕉视频 and ESRC.

Other activities
Anne regularly reviews journal articles and book chapters, publishes her own and collaborative work as well as presenting at conferences. Anne has been an external examiner for several doctorates globally. She is currently an External Examiner at Newcastle College for MA Childhood and Youth Wellbeing Studies. She is also in the Technical Advisory Group for the Department of Education for a longitudinal study of primary school children.
